Dimitrios Deligiannis was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1983. He graduated from the Military School of Medicine, AUTh, in 2007 affirming to serve the Navy Military Corps. He has been awarded with medals for participating in ΝΑΤΟ and UN peacekeeping missions.
In 2014, he received his MSc Degree in “Minimally Invasive Surgery, Robotic Surgery and Telesurgery” with Excellence, School of Medicine, University of Athens.
In 2016, he completed his Residency in Urology at the 1st University Department, ‘Laikon’ General Hospital, Athens, and received the title of Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU).
In 2016, he also excelled in the Fellowship exams ‘A. Deliveliotis’ of the Hellenic Urological Association, and was awarded a Fellowship for his PhD “Cannabinoid CB1 Receptors in Renal Cancer”.
In 2017-2019, he pursued Postgraduate Training in Pelvic Uro-Oncology and Robotic Surgery at St James’s University Hospital, Leeds, UK, in an officially recognized Fellowship Program of the Royal College of Surgeons in England.
As a Researcher, he has participated in the STAMPEDE trial for Prostate cancer, and in the BRAVO and i-ROC trials for bladder cancer.
He authored a Review on the interactive e-module of BJUI, was awarded with the RCS Senior Clinical Fellowship Scheme Certificate, and received the title of Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS).
During this period, he received the 1st Paneuropean Award at the 1st EAU Guidelines Cup, representing Greece at the Conference in Copenhagen.
He is Registrar at the Urology Department of the Naval Hospital of Athens, and Scientific Associate of the 1st Urology Department of the Metropolitan General Hospital in Robotic Surgery.
