He graduated from McGill University in Canada (BSc) and the Medical School of the University of Athens, where he did his Residency Training in Urology (Laiko Hospital) and his Ph.D. Following one-year postgraduate training in Nijmegen, Netherlands, he was elected Lecturer (1994) at the 2nd University Urology Department of the Sismanoglio Hospital until 2008, and resigned as an Associate Professor. Today, he is the Head of the Urology Department of HYGEIA Hospital. He was Member of the Examination Committee of the European Board of Urology (EBU) (1997-2008), and President of the same EBU Committee (2008-2011). For seven years he was a Member of the EAU Guidelines Committee in BPH.
He has participated in international multi-center trials and has been invited as a Speaker in 19 International Conferences. He has authored 68 articles in Pub Med and 7 chapters in books.
He is the President of the "Mantzavinateion" Public Benefit Foundation in Kefalonia, and Board Member of the HILL School. He is the Vice President of the Hellenic Urological Association (HUA) and will be the HUA President for the period 2021-2022.
