He graduated from the Medical School of AUTh in 1996. In 2005, completed his Residency Training in Urology and received the title of Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU).
In 2007, he pursued three-month postgraduate training at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on a Clinical Fellowship from the European Association of Urology (EAU).
He did one-year postgraduate training in Endourology (2008-2009) at the University of California Irvine (UCI), USA, on a Clinical Research Fellowship from the Endourological Society.
In 2010 he completed his Ph.D. at the University of Ioannina with Excellence.
Until 2015, he worked as a Registrar A’ in the National Health System, and as a Scientific Coordinator at the Urology Department of the General Hospital of Veroia.
From 2016 to 2018, he worked as a permanent Consultant Urologist in the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in Manchester, UK.
In April 2018, he was elected Assistant Professor of Urology at the 1st University Department of Urology, AUTh. He is currently working at the 1st University Urology Department of the G. Gennimatas Hospital, coordinating the Prostate Biopsy & BPH Clinic, and the Prostate Oncology Clinic.
He is an Editorial Board Member of 8 international journals, and has worked as a Reviewer for more than 100 articles in internationally recognized journals, including “BJU International”, “Journal of Endourology” and “Urology”.
He is a Member of the Academy Education Council of Société Internationale D'Urologie (SIU) representing the Hellenic Urology Association (HUA), and also an Associate Member of the EAU Section of Oncological Urology (ESOU).
He has authored 71 articles published in journals registered in PubMed and authored 5 chapters in foreign-language books with over 900 citations and h-index 18.
